This is the place to go for Classic Joey. Wolfman's writing is very balanced between the ensemble, and everyone gets some time to shine. Joey is unique, however, in that Wolfman had a deal with the artist, Perez, that he would not do "thought bubbles" for Joey. This makes him more of an artist's character. He still has incredible character moments throughout, but you don't really get into his head. The writing does deteriorate over time, but the vast majority of issues are very good.
Joey is brought back from the dead as an alternating villain/ally. It doesn't really seem like the writers know what to do with him, and he doesn't have much going on outside of his family. Some of these issues are really good and a lot of fun. Joey is vaguely recognizable as his NTT self.
This is bad! Don't read this! (At least not for Joey.) He is not the same character as above.
This is not as bad as 2011 but still isn't great. I would not read this for Joey. He does have an interesting relationship with Older!Rose here. He is not the same character as above.
This Joey has depression and other mental health problems. The writing is very different from NTT, but this Joey is unique and fun. Priest's writing may be a bit of an acquired taste, but the soap opera aspect is so exciting!
